Our big Black Friday purchase this year? A suite of new appliances…ooof. Thankfully my husband took the reigns on picking it out (thank you consumer reports) and I just got to confirm the color. I research all big purchases, but was more than happy to hand this one over.
(It’s odd to take pics of appliances, yes?)
While you might be thinking this isn’t particularly frugal there were some things we did to help with our big purchase. 1) we bought when one of the best sales of the year was going on..Black Friday 2) We bought online and got almost $200 in cash back through Ebates (seriously…all purchases should be made through a cash back site..there is nothing to lose) 3) we opted to not pay for installation of the microwave and dishwasher. Now. That last one…my husband will tell you it was a challenge, but thankfully he is super smart and saved us almost $200 by installing himself.
The one thing I could have done to save even more (and I am kicking myself for forgetting this in all of the hustle of the shopping holiday) would have been to buy some discounted gift cards. Dang.
What about you? What purchases did you make on Black Friday? Any killer deals?
P.S. If you are new to Ebates you can sign up through my referral link and get $10 yourself once you make your first purchase! https://www.ebates.com/r/KATHER5127?eeid=28187
P.P.S. I also use topcashback.com for cashback..sometimes they offer better incentives than Ebates. https://www.topcashback.com/ref/kat0728
P.P.P.S. I just have Ebates and TopCashback bookmarked and it reminds me to shop through them!
