Junk mail. It’s abundant; I know. But when you don’t know a company (or even if you do) you should go ahead and rip open those envelopes just to see what is inside. Sometimes there is a coupon you could use or occasionally there’s a bigger surprise.
Have you heard of Nielsen? In a nutshell it’s a research company that tracks consumer’s habits. You can read more about it here
If a letter arrives form Nielsen, tear that baby open (carefully hehe). Here is what was inside of mine:
Yippee!! $30 for filling out a TV diary for a week? Umm, yes please! A few weeks before this package arrived I had received a regular plain ole’ white envelope that I almost didn’t open. So glad I did because there was an additional $5 in it letting me know a TV diary was coming…could you imagine if I would have just tossed that all in the recycling bin?
A couple of days ago I received an envelope with $2 in it and a note letting me know that another TV diary was being sent my way. I don’t know what the compensation will be, but umm yes, I will track my TV watching for cash. Who wouldn’t?!
Please note: not all families qualify for Nielsen surveys. If you want to read more about that process check here
Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by something you received in the mail?
